The SHS Scholarship is funded via gifts made by College of Science majors just before their graduation to commemorate their time at UNT. Their generous donations make it possible for the Dean's Office to grant $1000 to an incoming student following in their footsteps.

To be considered for the Students Helping Students Scholarship, an applicant must possess the following characteristics:

• Meet the minimum entrance and continuing academic performance standards of the College of Science in effect at the time of any award.
• Student is incoming in Fall 2024 (either first-time-in-college or transfer) planning to enroll full-time in any degree-granting major within the UNT College of Science.
• College of Science pre-majors are eligible to receive the award in Fall 2024. However, to receive continuing support in Spring 2025, the student must meet the admissions requirements of the College of Science and be a major and enrolled full-time in College of Science.
