Joann Peters Scholarship: $1,000–$2,000

The Joann Peters Scholarship was created and funded by a chemistry alum, and the first award will be given in Spring 2019. The award is open to undergraduate Chemistry majors. Eligible applicants must:

  • Be full-time UG students majoring in Chemistry; In the event no chemistry applicant meets the following criteria; UG students in biology physics that have completed three credit hours in chemistry may be considered.
  • Be in good academic standing with the department and College of Science.
  • Be citizens/permanent residents.
  • Complete the FAFSA in the award year.
  • Include a personal statement in their essay, of no more than 1,000 words, describing how they have worked to advance women in science or their personal vision to advance women in science.

This scholarship is awarded through the College of Science (COS). The award consists of a monetary award, which is used to defray tuition and fees for the following academic year.
