Follow the steps below to make this registration season run smoothly.
Students can enroll themselves into most classes without issue. However, there are cases when something will prevent successful enrollment. One major help here can be the UNT Registration Page, which is updated each semester as a general guide to all things registration!
Click here if you are experiencing issues while attempting to register for classes.
Follow the steps below to prepare for class registration:
Enrollment holds may prevent students from enrolling because an action must be taken first. Click on the Tasks tile in your MyUNT Student Homepage to determine if you have any holds. You can read the description to determine how to remove the hold.
Common holds include:
Academic advisors can release the Advising Required hold only. Students must complete the Registration task to release the UNT Registration Guide hold. Any other holds must be released by the issuing offices. Check the description of the hold to determine who to contact to get the hold released.
Go to mydegreeaudit.unt.edu
Log in with your EUID and Password.
On the "Audits" tab, click "Run Declared Program" at the bottom of the page. (You can also choose "Select a Different Program" if you are considering changing your major).
A list of audits run will appear. Select "View Audit" next to the audit you just created (check the created column to ensure you're selecting the most current).
Any section listed with a red X has courses yet to be taken/passed for graduation. Look here for possible courses to take next! Remember to check to make sure you meet the prerequisites by clicking on the course code in your degree audit.
Students in good academic standing are permitted to enroll in up to 19 hours in the fall and spring terms and in up to 18 hours in the summer terms.
If you are not in good academic standing, consider limiting your enrollment to 12-15 hours per semester until you reach good standing. Fewer hours will allow you more time to focus on each class and return to good academic standing.
Students with a GPA above 3.000 may be eligible to take more hours provided they meet the requirements listed in the University Catalog. If you wish to take more hours and you meet the requirements for an overload exception, you can email the COS Advising Center (cosadvising@unt.edu) with your request. An advisor will review your request to determine if you meet the requirements and make any necessay adjustments.
Once you have selected a list of classes you may take and decided on the number of hours you plan to take, use Visual Schedule Builder to help you create your ideal schedule. Instructions for using Visual Schedule Builder are on the Registrar's Office website.
If you are considering online courses, use the Online Learning Readiness Questionnaire to find out if online classes are right for you.
Use the UNT Registration Guide to help you add, drop, and swap classes.
Pay attention to the Academic Calendar to ensure that you meet all registration and payment deadlines.
