REMINDER: All students in their first semester at UNT, as well as students who are on academic alert or probation, are required to come in for advising prior to registration. Incoming first-time-in-college and transfer students are required to attend Orientation to meet with an advisor and register for courses.

|How to Schedule an Appointment||To Schedule an appointment with a COS Academic Advisor or Health Profession Advisor, visit https://appointments.unt.edu/, select the advisor and time available for you, then make note of the scheduled appointment day/time.|

Faculty Advisors are faculty members who teach, may engage in research, and provide academic support to students. We have faculty advisors for each department:
|Math Placement||College Algebra proficiency is required to be fully admitted into the College of Science. Students may demonstrate competency by either completing MATH 1100-College Algebra with a C or higher, or taking the Math Placement Exam and earning a 10% or higher. |University Catalog||The university catalog is an online resource for university, college, degree, and major requirements, as well as campus resources, policies, and university information. The catalog can be found here.|
|How to Access your Degree Audit||Your online degree audit is an interactive tool utilized to view your degree requirements, GPA, track your academic progress, and track graduation timeline. You can access your degree audit here.|
|Changing your major||If you want to change your major into or from the College of Science, please schedule an appointment to meet with a COS advisor, and we can provide you with the steps/direction needed for the change.|
If you have the pre-requisites for a desired class that you're unable to register for, contact the appropriate department and include your name, ID, class/section, proof of enrollment or completion of the pre-requisite(s):
|Semester Deadlines||Each semester has specific dates/deadlines for when to register, make payment, drop classes, request Pass/No Pass, Incompletes, and withdraw from the university. To view dates/deadlines, visit here.|
|Academic Standing||Information on academic good standing, alert, probation, and suspension can be found here. If you find yourself on alert, probation, or suspension, please be sure to schedule an appointment with an advisor and/or monitor communication regarding academic standing programs.|
|Excess Hours||The state of Texas provides 30 credit hours beyond the degree plan. Anything over those 30 credit hours are subject to excessive tuition rates. Visit here to learn more about excess hours.|
|Financial Aid Eligibility and Enrollment Requirements, Satisfactory Academic Progress||For questions regarding your financial aid, eligibility, and satisfactory academic progress, please visit here.|
|Graduation & Commencement Ceremonies||Once a student earns 90+ hours, graduation correspondence will be sent. However, that does not necessarily mean a student is graduating. Be sure to visit with an advisor each term, and schedule a graduation check appointment to ensure you're on track to graduate in the term of which you plan to. If you'd like to take classes at UNT and at a community college during the same term, please schedule an appointment with an advisor to discuss course equivalencies and options. Please note: Concurrent enrollment during a student's graduating term, defers graduation to the next term.
|Transferring from UNT?||If you are planning to transfer from UNT, you will need to request UNT transcripts to be sent to the other institution, and contact Financial Aid (if applicable). Be sure your student account is also clear of any outstanding balances/items.|
