Pioneer Natural Resources is a large, Texas-based independent exploration and production company that is helping meet the world's critical energy needs. Recently, Pioneer connected to collaborate with the UNT Physics Department and UNT Mathematics Department to identify prospective interns for its programs.

Physics and mathematics majors attended an information session with Pioneer at the end of January. Pioneer presented an overview of their activities, work environment, and opportunities for student internships and full-time employment. Pioneer internships provide students experience working on challenging, complex problems with the possibility for full-time employment with the company after graduation. Attendance at the event was tremendous. Pioneer expressed how impressed they were with event turnout and student qualifications.

The College of Science is committed to providing experiences inside and outside the classroom to prepare each student for a successful career after college. We are currently collaborating with businesses looking to hire smart, hard-working and analytically-talented individuals.
