Dr. Liz Skellam to Present at UNT Research on Tap Event

The UNT Office of Research and Innovation has announced thier next Research on Tap event: this month's topic is "Fantastic Fungi and Magic Mushrooms" with Dr. Liz Skellam, professor of chemistry at the University of North Texas. In this talk, Dr. Skellam will introduce the fantastic contributions of fungi to the world around us and to the fermentation industry specifically; the 'dark side' of fungi and the use of 'drugs from bugs' (such as penicillin and psilocybin).

Join the UNT Office of Research and Innovation at Armadillo Ale Works on February 17 at 7pm for this exciting presentation with Dr. Skellam.

Dr. Skellam's lab in the BioDiscovery Research Institute focuses on natural product biosynthetic pathway elucidation and engineering to generate and develop novel biocatalysts and bioactive molecules with potential use for the pharmaceutical, agrochemical, food, and cosmetic industries.
