College of Science Receives 2019 Outstanding College Award from University Accreditation

The College of Science is honored to receive the 2019 Outstanding College Award by the Office of University Accreditation. Presented by UNT Provost Jennifer Cowley at a special ceremony on November 28, the award recognizes a strong commitment to institutional effectiveness across all degree and certificate programs and administrative units. Dean Su Gao and Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies John Quintanilla accepted the distinguished honor on behalf of everyone who has worked hard to innovate and implement effective internal policy while serving our students with excellence since the College of Science was officially formed just last year.

UNT has built Institutional Effectiveness (IE) plans campus-wide, including all degree programs and academic departments; as well as administrative, academic and student support, research and public service units. While the implementation of these requirements are expected of all UNT units, the Outstanding College Award is given to those that go beyond mere compliance and have shown dedication to continuous, data-informed improvement and the IE process at the University of North Texas.
