The Dean is pleased to recognize Cindy Clark as a recipient of this month's COS Excellence in Mastering Challenges Continuously (E=mc²) Award! This award was established by Dean Quintanilla to recognize outstanding efforts among full-time staff members within the College of Science and its departments.

"Cindy is an excellent team member. She takes care of all requests and tasks thoroughly, responds quickly, follows through on every item," said Dr. Cui, chair of the UNT Physics Department. "She always finds ways to solve problems, no matter how difficult or challenging."

Cindy has been with the College of Science since 2021, and in her current position as the College Research Officer since July. Earlier this year, Cindy received a Rising Star Award from the UNT Office of the President for her commitment to excellence.

"Last year Cindy started having monthly Teams meetings with each faculty member, and that has helped me a lot," said Dr. Ohad Shemmer, associate professor of UNT Physics. "She meets with me at least once a month to discuss my various financial issues. Cindy is the best staff member in the department, at least as far as I can remember, and she deserves every possible prize or award."

One of Cindy's favorite UNT memories was being surprised for her birthday. "When I arrived to work after Labor Day my office was decorated and there were snacks in celebration of my birthday," she said. "I have the best boss and coworkers."

When she's not working, Cindy loves spending time in the great outdoors with her husband.

Kelli Chase from the UNT Mathematics Department was also a recipient of October's E=mc² Award. Dean Quintanilla plans to continue giving this award to two outstanding COS staff members every month for the foreseeable future.
