The Dean is pleased to recognize Kelli Chase as a recipient of this month's COS Excellence in Mastering Challenges Continuously (E=mc²) Award! This award was established by Dean Quintanilla to recognize outstanding efforts among full-time staff members within the College of Science and its departments.

As the Scheduling Assistant and Math Quest Center Manager for the UNT Mathematics Department, Kelli is responsible for keeping the Math Quest Center running smoothly. She handles textbook adoption for the department, orchestrates student workers, and wears many other hats around the office.

"Kelli has a really good way with people when it comes to customer service, be it over the phone, via e-mail or with walk-ins to the main Math office," said Dr. Ralf Schmidt, chair of the Mathematics Department. "She is helpful and skilled in answering a wide variety of questions or directing people to the appropriate specialist if necessary."

Prior to joining the UNT workforce five years ago, Kelli lived in Athens for thirty-five years and worked at the University of Georgia's College of Veterinary Medicine. In her free time, she enjoys scrapbooking and crafts, and she and her husband run a hot sauce business, called Dave's Heaven Sent Sauces.

Kelli said it is an honor to receive this award and that she appreciates being appreciated. "My favorite thing about my job is the people I work with and the friendship that we have, even outside of the office," she said.

Cindy Clark in the College Research Office was also a recipient of October's E=mc² Award. Dean Quintanilla plans to continue giving this award to two outstanding COS staff members every month for the foreseeable future.
