As we enter staff appreciation month, the College of Science is pleased to congratulate Cindy Clark, Administrative Coordinator in UNT Physics, for receiving the 2023 UNT Rising Star Award! We couldn't be more proud of her for her achievements and well-deserved recognition.
"I am honored to have been considered for this award, and deeply humbled to have won. There are many individuals in the College of Science that have been willing to share their knowledge with me," said Cindy. "This award is definitely a reflection of excellence within the College of Science and the Physics Department staff and faculty. I certainly could not have achieved it without the collaborative efforts of both!"
Cindy brought over twenty years of experience with her to UNT when she started as a Purchaser in the College of Science in June of 2021, before moving to the Physics department in an Administrative Coordinator role. She said that her professional passion is problem solving.
"It brings great satisfaction for me to identify an area of weakness and work to improve it," said Cindy.
From the Office of the President: "UNT staff members are the backbone of the university, providing essential support to students, faculty, administration and each other. They are essential to the success of students, of UNT and the entire university community."
"I get to work with so many different amazing people including faculty, staff and students," said Cindy. "To quote an African Proverb: 'If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.'"
Please join us in celebrating Cindy and our other award winners at the Staff Appreciation Awards Ceremony in the UNT Coliseum on March 8 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
