225 Teach North Texas Graduates Teaching in DFW

According to the US Department of Education, there has been a shortage of mathematics educators in the state of Texas since the 1993/94 school year. The goal of Teach North Texas is to thoroughly prepare secondary math and science teachers for the Texas public school system. It's no small feat that they are doing so with a rate of 100% employment rate after graduation.

Teach North Texas is a replication of the highly successful UTeach program at the University of Texas in Austin. It is a hands-on program that consists of 21 hours of coursework structured as a minor within your degree plan. The structure enables you to graduate within the timeframe of your degree. To complete the program, students must major in Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Physics. We will soon be adding a degree plan for Computer Science majors as well.

Teach North Texas currently has 225 graduates teaching in the DFW metroplex. In this video by UNT Mayborn College student Mikaela Craig, you can follow TNT graduate Daniel Herfeldt on his journey to become a mathematics teacher via UNT Mathematics and Teach North Texas.
