UNT Hosts Interdisciplinary 2019 AI & Data Science Summit

On October 11, 2019, the UNT College of Science, College of Engineering, Interdisciplinary Program in Analytics & Computational Science, and New College are partnering to present the 2019 AI & Data Science Summit.

The AI & Data Science Summit will be held at UNT's Frisco campus and will highlight the importance of the analytics ecosystem, comprising of large companies, government agencies, entrepreneurs, and universities, in working together to sustain innovation and profitable applications of AI and data science.

Date: October 11, 2019

Time: Opens at 8:15 am. Program begins at 9:00 am. After-Summit Reception at 4:00 pm. Full schedule at registration site.

The morning keynote will be delivered by UNT alumnus David Copps, who has established himself as successful entrepreneur in the field of artificial intelligence. He will discuss the challenges and opportunities for entrepreneurs in AI and Big Data. His talk will be followed by a panel discussion with regional entrepreneurs entitled, "Living On the Edge: Entrepreneurial Opportunities for Exploiting Data & AI."

The lunch keynote will presented by Tuell Green, Managing Director of Operations Research & Advanced Analytics at American Airlines. A follow-up panel of industry leaders from Toyota, American Airlines and Charles Schwab will discuss AI and Data Science applications in their businesses, the skill sets they are looking for when hiring, and how students should prepare for careers in analytics.

Afternoon breakout sessions will include conversations on regional smart city initiatives, healthcare analytics, and cybersecurity.

There will be networking opportunities throughout the day, as well as an After-Summit Reception.
