College of Science students are invited to meet interim Dean John Quintanilla during his formal or informal open office hours this spring. The Dean has scheduled several times to be available to discuss questions and concerns- or to simply chat over a game of pool. About the Dean

Dr. Quintanilla is the Interim Dean for the College of Science. Previously, he was a faculty undergraduate advisor for the Department of Mathematics, a founding co-director of Teach North Texas, and Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies. He is also a University Distinguished Teaching Professor. He was a first-generation college student and received both his BS and MS from Stanford in 1992 and his PhD from Princeton in 1997. He has authored or co-authored more than 25 refereed articles that have appeared in scientific literature. He has also made multiple presentations to high school teachers concerning the utility of secondary mathematics.
