Dr. Sushama Dandekar Recieves 2020 UNT Foundation Outstanding Lecturer Award

The College of Science is proud that Chemistry professor Dr. Sushama Dandekar was recently awarded the 2020 UNT Foundation Outstanding Lecturer Award, presented by the UNT Office of Faculty Success.

The UNT Foundation Outstanding Lecturer Award recognizes a full-time lecturer who has made significant and sustained contributions to the University as evidenced by the quality of their teaching and service. This award is the university's highest honor for full-time lecturers. The annual award includes a one-time payment of $5,000, a commemorative engraved gift, and the distinction of UNT Foundation Outstanding Lecturer.

Dr. Dandekar is one of our Senior Lecturers who joined UNT in 2000. She has positively impacted the lives and careers of innumerable students in her nearly 30 year career as a chemistry education, both at UNT and elsewhere. Her research focus is New Synthetic Methodology and Small Molecule Drug Development. The award was presented to Dr. Dandekar during one of her classes on January 27, 2020.
