COS Community C.A.S.E.: Applications Open for Hickory Hall Art & Science Exhibit

The College of Science is pleased to announce the launch of a new initiative to showcase the visual art and science of our community members. Applications are now open to submit creative and scientific work to the COS Community C.A.S.E. (Creative Art & Science Exhibit), located on the first floor of Hickory Hall.

Vision:

The COS Community CASE will showcase the scientifically-oriented artistic and aesthetic endeavors of UNT's College of Science faculty, staff, alumni, and students in order to enrich the environment and culture of Hickory Hall and the College overall. The focus will be to share work created by individuals and groups affiliated with COS, engage the community, inspire creative explorations of the world around us, and encourage public appreciation of artistic and scientific collaborations.

The CASE committee is dedicated to excellence in diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion. We aim to foster an environment that is respectful to all community members and values a diverse collection of backgrounds and experiences.

Call for Submissions:
Work must be original and showcase visual art inspired by scientific ideas (ex. painting, sculpture, installation, etc), or scientific research displayed visually/artistically (ex. a collection or display of data as installation). This call is open to interpretation and thinking outside the box is encouraged!

Call is open for College of Science faculty and staff to submit their work to be displayed during the Spring 2022 semester. Any form of media can be submitted, but an image of the work must be included in the submission. There is no fee for entry.

Deadline for submission is November 15, 2021.
Artists will be notified of selection by the end of November.
Accepted pieces will be on display January - May 2022.

Selection Process:

All submissions will be reviewed by the CASE Committee and is subject to the dean's approval. This committee consists of staff volunteers from across the college. The CASE committee is dedicated to excellence in diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion. We aim to foster an environment that is respectful to all community members and values a diverse collection of backgrounds and experiences.

Artwork will be showcased in the Hickory Hall display case located by the west entrance of the building.
