Why/how did you get into academic advising?

During my time as an Orientation leader, I saw advisors change students' lives and knew that advising was what I wanted to do.

What is your favorite part about your job?

My favorite part of advising is helping students solve problems by finding new ways for them to get to where they want to go.

What is the last thing you read for fun?

A novel, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo.

What is your favorite thing about UNT?

The vibrant and supportive community. People at UNT care so much and it's evident everywhere you look.

What do you do in your spare time?

I like to cook and try new recipes in my free time. It's part of that hospitality background that I just can't get rid of.

What is the best advice you can give to our COS students?

Anything that is hard only gets easier with practice. Repetition is key. Read and reread, do extra practice problems, quiz yourself and your friends.
