The University of North Texas community, family, and friends are invited to join us at noon on Sunday, May 11, to celebrate our Spring 2025 graduates from the College of Science in person at the UNT Coliseum. Dean Quintanilla will be addressing the newest graduates during the ceremony, alongside leadership from the UNT College of Education. Watch the ceremony online here.
A total of 410 College of Science undergraduate students and 9 Master's students are receiving their degrees this semester. The ceremony will include traditional commencement elements, including ceremonial degree conferral and individual graduate recognition. Grads who participated in Students Helping Students this semester will also be recognized.
During the ceremony, our students with the highest honors in the College of Science will be recognized, including 72 students graduating cum laude (GPA between 3.5 and 3.69), another 59 students graduating magna cum laude (GPA between 3.7 and 3.89), and 38 students graduating summa cum laude (GPA between 3.9 and 4.0).
The College of Science is also celebrating the graduation of 18 Ph.D. students. A seperate ceremony for Doctoral and Master's of Fine Arts students will take place at 4:00pm on Thursday, May 8 (watch the livestream at this link).
In addition to the official ceremonies, UNT will host a Grad Block Party Friday, May 9, from 5 to 9 p.m. on the University Union South Lawn near Highland Street. The celebration includes free food, photo ops, games and a fireworks show. All Spring, Summer and Fall 2025 graduates, along with their family and friends, are invited to attend.
