The UNT College of Science is pleased to welcome Dr. Melissa Collini to the UNT Chemistry
department as their newest lecturer teaching organic chemistry classes this semester.
Though not currently under a research appointment, Dr. Collini works in the field
of Chemistry Education and is specifically interested in student affect (emotion),
and how it impacts learning and performance in the classroom.
“I believe I am bringing a unique passion for chemistry to my classes, and I’m excited
to make learning accessible and interesting!” said Dr. Collini. “I also want my students
to know that it is never too late to pursue work that is meaningful to them, and that
they have value beyond their performance in the classroom.”
Dr. Collini is a Denton local and UNT alum herself, earning her master's and PhD degrees in organic chemistry. She also started her successful science podcast, Chemistry For Your Life, while studying here. Chem for your life is currently one of the top 150 science podcasts on apple podcasts and the #1 chemistry podcast in the United States. Learn more at: chemforyourlife.com
