As part of our commitment to graduate research and education, the UNT College of Science is exploring new ways to support dissertation development among its graduate students. Alongside grants and other funding options, we recently received a generous anonymous offer to match up to $50,000 in support of our graduate students during the summer months, one of the most crucial times for PhD hopefuls to hone in on their research and document their findings.
Double your donation to the University of North Texas today by giving to the cause. We also invite you to contact our development officer Meghan Dours to discuss your gift.
Why support graduate students?
Supporting students over the summer months allows them to focus on their dissertation
research rather than worry about how to pay their bills. The recipients of this funding
will be top-tier students who have completed all their qualifying exams and coursework
and require time to focus on their dissertation, which can be difficult if they also
need to work to make ends meet. Being awarded a summer stipend to conduct research
is also a valuable resume addition, and the funding could accelerate their time to
graduation overall.
Graduate support is key to the recruitment and retention of our outstanding students. The more graduate students we can help complete their dissertations in a timely manner, the better for our celebrated and ongoing status as a Tier One Research University.
Thank you for supporting the UNT College of Science. Go Mean Green!
