Department Chair

The Department of Mathematics at the University of North Texas (UNT) invites applications for the position of Department Chair. The standard appointment term is four years, with the possibility of renewal.

Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics, an academic record appropriate for appointment as a tenured Full Professor, and a demonstrated, sustained research program.

Preference will be given to candidates who have secured external funding, possess administrative experience, demonstrate excellence in teaching and mentoring, and show a proven ability to collaborate with faculty and administrators across the university.

Lecturer

The UNT Mathematics Department is seeking applications for a full-time lecturer position to begin in Fall 2027. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching four courses/sections each semester during the academic year, primarily focusing on entry-level college mathematics courses including developmental and corequisites pathway courses.

Candidates must possess a master’s degree in mathematics or a closely related field by August 2027, including a minimum of 18 semester credit hours of graduate coursework with a MATH or STAT prefix. Additionally, candidates should have at least one year of experience teaching college-level mathematics courses.
