College of Science Dean’s Office to Host Costume Contest for SECC

During the month of October, UNT faculty and staff have a unique opportunity to make a difference in the community through the State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC). This annual fundraising effort gives state employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for tens of thousands in the North Texas region and throughout the state.

This year, all cash/check donations collected by the College of Science will go to Health Services of North Texas, a local charity working to improve the quality of life for all North Texans through medical care and support services.

The College of Science's Dean's Office will be holding a Costume Contest on October 31 to raise funds for this year's university-wide SECC campaign. Entry for the costume contest is $5 (suggested) per person. Light refreshments will be provided as we choose the winning costume!

When: Thursday, October 31, 2-3pm

Where: Hickory Hall 254

To enter the costume contest (or, if you are a COS employee, RSVP for chili cook-off), go to https://forms.gle/McrZrrK6yUEzwF2j7 and fill out the form. Employees are welcome to donate to another charity of their choice and may request a donation form from us at the event, or donate online (please bring a printout of the completed online donation to participate in the events).

A faculty and staff chili cook-off event will take place on October 18 to raise funds for the campaign. Plates are $10 (suggested). Fill out the form to confirm your participation.

Departments within the College of Science will also be hosting events throughout the month! Keep an eye on your inboxes for more information. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the SECC campaign, please contact your department's SECC coordinator:
