These are the undergraduate degree programs offered by the departments in the College of Science.

Biochemistry

Many of our students complete our Biochemistry programs in preparation for medical school. Other potential career paths include working for biotechnology companies, consulting agencies, cosmetic manufacturers, educational institutions, environmental labs, food manufacturers and pharmaceutical companies.

We prepare our biology students to make a difference in the world. Modern biology encompasses the study of all aspects of living systems, from the molecular basis of genetic inheritance to the interactions between organisms and the environment.

We allow students to pursue their scientific creativity with guidance from our leading chemistry faculty. Current frontiers of experimental and theoretical chemical investigation involve the areas of chemical reactions, reactivity and synthesis.

Ecology

Are you interested in environmental and conservation issues? UNT's Ecology program is the only program of its kind in the region and can lead the way to a career in the great outdoors as a field researcher, naturalist, outdoor educator or wildlife biologist.

Mathematics

Students who earn degrees in mathematics readily obtain jobs with high-technology companies, as well as in business, industry, government and education. Our mathematics faculty support a strong program of instruction and research with a solid foundation in mathematical theory.

Medical Laboratory Science

Degrees offered: BS

Medical laboratory scientists work in clinical laboratories for hospitals and public health services organizations like the Red Cross, while others go on to manage educational programs, work in quality control, or pursue product development for laboratory equipment manufacturers.
